Xero, a small business online accounting service, announced today it has received $16.6 million in its latest round of funding. Xero provides a dashboard for business and independent contractors to manage their expenses, invoicing, and bank transactions. The service can be used to manage small retail stores, one man operations, or larger operations. 1This time, Xero also notes that it recently doubled its US team, from three employees to six, and hired Jamie Sutherland (formerly vice president and general manager at Sage Software) as the president of US operations. 2
