The National Center is delighted to be a featured presenter and exhibitor at the 2012 Family Philanthropy Conference hosted by the Council on Foundations. NCFP President Ginny Esposito and Vice President Karen Green ? along with NCFP board members Skip Moore and Kathleen Odne ? have been invited to help kick off the conference with the special two-day CEO Retreat: Just for You: Qualities, Challenges, and Opportunities of the Family Foundation CEO.
Other members of the staff, including Jason Born, Sally Jones, and new development director Kirk Hamill, will be manning our booth in Family Central on Monday and Tuesday, and look forward to sharing with you hot-off-the-presses copies of our new CEO Leadership Guides series, as well as details about upcoming teleconferences, new editions of Passages, and our Governance Essentials seminar. - The Family Foundation CEO ? What the Research Reveals, February 14th, 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The National Center for Family Philanthropy recently concluded 18 months of research that revealed the generative and delicate nature of family foundation CEO leadership. This session will look at the results of this important research?and at the multifaceted roles of these individuals, who are simultaneously trying to juggle positions in the family and the community, maintain a proper work-life balance, and contemplate the future.
- Same Cloth, Different Garments, February 14th 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. While they may be cut from the same genetic cloth, family members frequently have different political viewpoints, lifestyles, and priorities. Learn why diversity on your family foundation board is a good thing and hear from families that are successfully balancing board diversity with philanthropic priorities.
- Friends of the Family Reception, February 14, 4 to 6 p.m. The National Center will host Friends of the Family and their guests at a special reception during the conference.
