The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) marked its centenary this week by issuing its 100th electronic gambling license.
The license was granted to Relax Gaming Network Ltd., a Maltese-based company that develops and maintains bingo and poker software for online operators. Relax Gaming is also the firm behind Fast Poker online poker platform.
Robin Le Prevost, Head of e-commerce development for AGCC, said, ?Alderney remains at the forefront of e-gaming regulation and leads as one of the most pragmatic and popular regimes in the industry. The 100th license reaffirms Alderney?s status as the ?place to be? for the e-gaming industry.?
The AGCC was established in 2000 to regulate the island?s online gambling industry on behalf of the States of Alderney. The Commission came under fire for its handling of licensee Full Tilt Poker, but challenged accusations and revoked Full Tilt Poker?s license in September.
Mr. Prevost said that the Full Tilt Poker incident had caused no adverse affects to the channel island?s industry and claimed Alderney had received support from other jurisdictions over the way it resolved the matter.
