BERLIN ? A German telecommunications firm has ended a major advertising contract with a model who said she was a long-time fiance of Moammar Gadhafi's son, Mutassim, and for praising the former Libyan leaders family.
Telefonica Germany spokesman Albert Fetsch said Monday the company's subsidiary Alice will stop working with the 23-year old Italian model Vanessa Hessler and remove her face from its website within hours.
Hessler had been the company's advertising face for years.
Fetsch says Hessler "has failed to distance herself from her comments on the conflict in Libya."
Mutassim was killed in Libya this month, after being captured alongside his father.
Hessler told Italian magazine Diva e Donna that she had been dating Mutassim for four years.
