Sea Fishing Tackle Review: The Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500C ...

If you?re an avid angler like me, then you?re probably quite particular about keeping your tackle in good repair. There?s nothing worse than having a rod or a reel fail in the midst of a fight. Because sea fishing is a specific preference of mine, I have built up a great compilation of tackle throughout the years. Sea fishing tackle needs to be more robust and durable than other types, and generally requires more care and maintenance. A particular brand name I really appreciate is Abu Garcia?s Ambassadeur. Following is a short summary on a fishing reel I use quite often: the 6500C Tormentor sea fishing version.

Sea Fishing Tackle: Key Features of the Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500C Tormentor Reel

When I am out on a deserted shore or being thrown from side to side in a boat, I know that my 6500C Tormentor is absolutely ready for the challenge. This is a trustworthy piece of fishing gear with a remarkably strong design which can provide excellent performance for lure and also bait. The reel can recover 77cm of line with a single turn of the handle: in addition, it has 255m of 0.30mm line capacity. The gear ratio is 6.3:1, and the reel weighs 383g. One aspect I really welcome is the ADS spool concept. ADS means ?anti distortion spool,? and it works to lessen spool distortion when there is a weighty load. This is accomplished by putting the spool bearings on the outer part of the spool, thus enabling tighter tolerances amid the frame and spool of the reel. The end result? A considerable lessening of spool distortion. Last of all, ADS assists in deterring a reel binding when you have a large-size fish snared.

Sea Fishing Tackle: Additional Details on the 6500C Tormentor Sea Fishing Reel

The 6500C reel is one of my favourite pieces of sea fishing tackle. This reel has sturdy brass gears, a chromed brass frame, along with corrosion deterrent ball bearings in the spool for assurance of smooth casting and recovery. There is an Ever-Slik coating on the spool shaft; this element is an advanced epoxy based covering which is thermally cured. Ever-Slik provides superior corrosion resistance in a wide variety of environments, and is impervious to solvents and harsh chemicals. A couple of other facets of this 6500C are a carbon matrix drag, and also a 4-pin modifiable centrifugal brake. It has a 6.3:1 gear ratio; the reel also has got dual anti reverse.

Sea Fishing Tackle: In Reference to Ambassadeur Range and Abu

The primary production of the Ambassadeur reel was in 1952 and is a fundamental constituent in the Abu Garcia product series. In fact, many of the early Ambassadeur reels are still in use today. The Abu Garcia Company was founded in Svangsta, Sweden, near the Morrum River, in 1921. At first, this company was a factory that made watches; later on it was transformed into a developer, and creator of precisely correct fishing reels.

This Abu Ambassadeur 6500C Tormentor fishing reel is a fantastic item of sea fishing tackle that would be a worthy addition to any angler?s tackle box.
