I have a method inside the class Student, that I am trying to use in my main program to give an int test1 a value, to be able to use. No matter what I try I keep getting a different compile error.method: int i is the index location, and j is the actual score:
public void setTestScore(int i, int j) { if(i >= 0 && i < 3) TestScores[i] = j <= 0 ? 0 : j; }
to call the method
int test1 = Student.setTestScore();
Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

public void setTestScore(int i, int j)method expects two parameters i and j. You call it
int test1 = Student.setTestScore(); <--- without these 2 parameters

int test1 = Student.setTestScore();
You are not supplying the required arguments, for i and j;
You cannot call your method on the Student class as it is not a static method - you need to call it on an instance of the class;
The method does not return a value (void) so you cannot assign it to an integer variable.

2 mistakes here.
1. The return value must be "int" and not "void"
So redeclare your function as
public int steTestScore(int i, int j) { ... }
2. Pass the arguments i and j during the function call.
int test1 = Student.setTestScore(4,5);
